Agiasos

Approximately 25 kilometres from Naxos Town to the southwest of Naxos Island one can find the bay of Agiasos (otherwise spelled Agiassos or Aiyassos) with its cool and calm waters even when the strong north winds are blowing.

The road to Agiasos is all made of asphalt right up to Alyko beach and on to Pyrgaki where a serviceable dirt road continues on after that for about 3.5 kilometres. Local bus shuttle service is very poor, so it is advised that visitors who decide to stay there should also rent a car or motorcycle / scooter.

Agiassos beach is an ideal beach for those who do not like noise and crowds and for the hungry it has a tavern right above the beach with an excellent sea view and a really good local cuisine. Since the area is rather quiet there are very few rooms to rent no umbrellas or sun-beds available for rent since it is not an organised beach.

The other choices of beach which are closest are those of Pyrgaki beach and Alyko beach.
